Draft for review, 17 October 2026. Words in a dashed box are still to come. Sources: docs/w14_research/legal_and_accessibility.md, sections 1a, 1e, 2 and 3; his notes on redraft 3 (16 October): light touch, no storage or AI-tool detail.
This page says what I collect when you use thanksfortheread, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. I'm Matt MacLennan, and I run thanksfortheread myself. You can reach me at notes at thanksfortheread dot com.
What I collect
- Your name and email address, when you write to me or buy notes.
- Your script, and anything you tell me about it. A title page often carries your name, address and phone number, so I treat the script as personal information too.
- Payment details. These go to Stripe, which processes the payment. I never see or store your card number. I see your name, email, the amount and the date.
What I use it for
- To read your script, write your notes, and answer your follow-up questions.
- To send you the notes and tell you when they'll arrive.
- To keep the records the law asks a business to keep about a sale.
I don't sell your information, and I don't use your script for anything except your notes.
Who else handles it
- Stripe processes payments under its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this site, and counts visits to it with Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Your script
Only I read your script, and I don't share it with anyone. It's deleted after the notes and the follow-up are done. You can ask me to delete it sooner, and I will.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites. No other company tracks you across sites through it. It doesn't change its behaviour in response to a browser's "do not track" signal, because nothing on it follows you for that signal to turn off.
Seeing, correcting or deleting what I hold
Write to me and I'll tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, except where the law requires me to keep a record of a sale.
Changes to this page
